JEE photo size requirements
JEE photo and signature are separate uploads
The bulletin usually lists different limits for the photograph and the signature. Do not reuse a photo file as a signature, and do not assume the same KB window applies to both.
JEE Main photo rules sit in that session’s information bulletin. Do not reuse a size you remember from a previous year without checking.
PixelThinks cannot guarantee that a government portal will accept the file.

How to use
- Upload a recent photograph that matches the bulletin’s background and pose notes as far as you can tell.
- Type the width, height, or KB limit from the current JEE Main bulletin.
- Resize or compress and check the face in the preview.
- Download the file and compare it with the bulletin before you apply.
Common problems
The photo will not upload on the JEE form
Confirm extension, bytes, and pixels against the bulletin. Try JPEG if you started from a phone PNG screenshot of the photo.
The file is too large
After the crop is right, set Target size to the bulletin’s maximum KB. Prefer JPEG for a colour headshot.
The picture looks stretched
The application box is often taller than it is wide. Crop to that ratio first, then resize. Avoid stretch mode.
Quality drops after compression
Use the highest quality that still meets the KB cap. A file a little under the maximum is usually safer than crushing the face to save a few kilobytes.
Wrong image format
Export the type named in the bulletin. Renaming .heic to .jpg does not create a JPEG; convert first if needed.
Below a minimum file size
If a minimum KB is listed, a hard crop of an already-small image may miss it. Keep more pixels or raise JPEG quality.
Frequently asked questions
Can I resize my JEE photo with this page?
Yes, using the numbers from the current bulletin. PixelThinks does not guarantee JEE Main will accept the file.
Is my JEE photo uploaded to PixelThinks?
No. The image is processed locally in your browser whenever supported.
Can I fix both pixels and file size?
Set dimensions, then a target KB if the bulletin lists both. Check the downloaded file for each value.
Can I use this JEE photo tool on mobile?
Yes. Save the original and the processed copy as two files.
Does a smaller file always look worse?
Not always, but aggressive JPEG quality will soften skin and hair. Stop when the preview still looks like a usable ID photo.
Is JEE photo resize free?
Yes. No signup and no daily cap. One image at a time, up to 30MB.
